4 Summer Nail Polishes

Happy new week! Can you believe there are approximately 4 months?! That being said, I want to share with you all my current favourite nail polishes, having naturally strong and long nails has always been a perk of mine, and because of that I really love collecting nail polishes although I don't do as much of it as I used to when I was younger (i.e. when began blogging).

01. Trend it up double volume & shine nail polish #320: I bought this gorgeous plum colour at a drugstore in Berlin, it's very thick and only needs max 2 coats, unless you're partaking in the 100 layers of ... challenge that everyone's going crazy over. Application has to be one coat at a time and make sure to let it completely dry.

02. O.P.I Need sunglasses: this bright yellow has been in my collection for the longest time but I just recently started using it and I regret not having done it earlier on, it looks very good against tan skin and 2 coats is enough to get the true colour.

03. O.P.I Too hot pink to hold 'em: I wear a lot of pink hues along with dark tones and this one's the one I usually gravitate towards whenever I'm not able to decide on a colour to wear. It's a rich pink colour that's very light and the true colour - at least to my liking, only appears after approx. 3 coats.

04. Chanel #579 Paparazzi: a gorgeous cross between burgundy and pink and looks very good year round, it has copper hues to it and looks great with any outfit. It's a very safe colour to go with if you're not one for overly bright or dark nail polishes. You can find more in this post.
Those are my top 4 nail polishes of the moment. Have you tried any of them and also let em know what you think.

July Favourites

July is past us and it's time for my beauty favourites. Some of these products you might've already seen on here and I've provided links to the previous posts regarding some items in case you'll be interested in seeing that. It's going to be quite a long post so let's dive into it.

01. Maybelline Eyestudio 24h gel eyeliner: BEST. EYELINER. EVER! Seriously, last weekend I went out and had wings that could cut somebody along with my smokey eye, as the night came to an end, I couldn't be bothered to take of my make-up (bad girl...), the next morning my eyeshadows had moved around but my eyeliner stayed put, no smudges or anything and I could've continued wearing the same eyeliner all day.

02. Make Up Store face mist: I haven't tried too many face sprays aside from the LA Girl one so I wanted to try something new and I had to make a choice between the MAC prep + prime fix+ and the one pictures, I decided to go wit it as it's more affordable and feels fresh on the skin. It can be used before/after make up application or to simply rehydrate your face during the day.

Nails | Deutsch You Want Me Baby?

O.P.I - Deutsch You Want Me Baby?

My nail polish collection consists of either very dark or bright tones, and I try to wear them equally as much each year. I had such a large collection but recently I threw out some old ones from like 5 years ago just to make space and as well as so I get the chance to use everything I own.
This week's manicure is this rich orange from O.P.I - I recently started using it and I've worn it maybe 2 or 3x already and I love it. The colour's just beautiful and compliments my skin tone so well. It wears very well too so that's a plus because there's nothing I dislike more than having to re-do my nails during the week. I usually keep Sundays for all the pampering and then I like to go about my week without worries.

Have you tried this colour before or something similar?

5 Things I'm Loving

Another week is upon us and I'm welcoming it with open arms! My weekend was very relaxed, I've been binge watching Rupaul's Drag Race (don't judge me), I have my reasons as to why I enjoy the show so much, anyway back to the point. Today I want to share with your all the top 5 items that I've found myself reaching out for more in the past two-three weeks.

Monthly Favourites | March

Hello, apologies for being so absent on the blog lately, work and other thing literally took over my life all of March. I was just too busy to have time for anything else so I decided to use my free days to catch up on some needed sleep and also just to sort of detox my system.
Anyway, today I'm sharing my March favourites, they're all beauty bits and I just noticed that one or two of these products had also been featured in the January favs post as well - guess that shows you just how much I love them right?

It's hard to even think and reflect on the fact that we're onto the 2nd month in such a short period of time. I literally have no clue where January went, I feel as if I didn't do much last month aside from stressing about what's to come...

On a more positive note, today I'm sharing with you a few beauty related items that I've been absolutely loving this past month. Most of these products have already made their debut on the blog - except for my relatively new foundation, which is from MAC and I've been using it for a little over a month. Plus I'm going to share with you another product that I'm certain will stay a favourite of mine for quite some time.

Current Favourite | Lancôme La vie est belle

La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme

This scent has been my favourite since back in October when I bought it. When I was at the airport departing from Berlin I got bored of waiting so I decided to check out the duty free and that's when it was literally love at first sight scent. There and then I knew that this perfume would be accompanying me back home and till this day I am happy it did. Also funny thing is that I'd actually written a wishlist which included this very same fragrance, but somehow I ended up forgetting about it till later. You can see the list here.

Now I am not one to stack up on loads of fragrances like I do with shoes (that is another story), because it will obviously take me ages to empty all the bottles which is why I casually keep them around 3-6 or so. That is more than enough for me. In case you do not already know, "La vie est belle" is French expression that means "Life is beautiful". The concept of this fragrance is centered on the idea of natural and simple beauty and the choice of one's own vision of happiness. It's all about finding joy and pleasure in small things in life which is what I love.

La vie est belle is: elegant, soft and glamorous and very feminine. It has a very intense scent without being overbearing, of course that is if used sparingly. I usually just spray very little and that goes a long way to even leave me smelling good all day long. It can last for as long as 8 hours without needing to apply more which is great because who really has the time to be reapplying their perfume every 2 hours? Not me at least.

GOSH GIANT SUN POWDER

GOSH Giant Sun Powder (001)

Lately I've really been loving to highlight the heck out of my face, it's come to the point whereby I feel slightly naked without a dash of this gorgeous golden bronze on my cheekbones. I wear it to work, on my casual days and of course on the nights out too. It makes my skin look and feel extra beautiful even though I suffer from very bad breakouts and scarring. I've used this product almost every single day since purchasing it, that's how much I love it.

The product gives a very nice healthy glow plus it's suitable for all skin tones, although I think it looks even extra pretty on fair skin. It's versatile and can be used both as a bronzing powder or highlight. I like to highlight my face with it and so far it's worked out fine. I use the Real Techniques pointed foundation brush to get a smooth and finer looking glow, I always start small and build the glow by slightly adding more product. If you're feeling bold you could simply brush it on your eyelids to look more awake without doing too much.

As you can see this is a pretty enormous product which will last you years and years to come (unless you're a make-up artist or use it almost daily like me). It wasn't too pricey and you definitely get more than you're paying for so it's well worth the money!

Monthly Favourites | October

ELLE UK - October edition
Necklace - Zara // Estée Lauder firming/sculpting face cream // Viva Glam 3 - MAC // Vitamin E oil // Argan oil of Morocco hair treatment // L'Occitane foot cream // Studio finish concealer duo - MAC // B&BW hand-gel

I'm back! It feels like ages since I last blogged. Anyway hope everyone's excited for the weekend, myself I've been off work since Wednesday and I'm at home trying to relax, I feel the flu's slowly but strongly creeping on me because yesterday I experienced one of the worst headaches ever!

Today's post is a few of my favourites from the month of October. It's not much but these are the things I've sort of  been reaching for more frequently. Firstly, I've been loving my Too Faced medium/deep bronzer (which I use as a setting powder), it smells like chocolate and I can't help but whip it out at random times just to get a whiff of the good smell. As of late I've been loving the L'Occitane foot cream, it's as creamy as a hand cream I once had from the same brand, it applies smoothly to the feet and keep them hydrated, it's perfect for the cold months. It's also been quite a while since I last picked up a magazine seeing as these days one can find pretty much everything on the internet, early October I decided to get ELLE and I've been reading it for inspiration here and there.

What have you been loving in October?

What's In My Bag?

I've come to realise that in my 4 years of blogging I have never written a 'What's in my bag?' post, that changes today because I'm here to show you some of the things that I carry around with me. Do keep in mind that I change my bags quite often so what I carry varies on which bag is in use and how big/small it is. You might have seen this bag before, it's from H&M and was only £19.99, I talked about the bag here.

Beauty | Smoked to the Gods

Products used:
Urban Decay Naked 3 palette
YSL Ecré de peau foundation
Ebay lashes
Gosh liquid eyeliner
MAC studio fix fluid concealer

It's been a while since I posted anything beauty related and that's why today I'm coming to you with this smokey eye I created back in June for the Secret Solstice festival. I was so impressed with how it turned out because this look definitely wasn't planned and I just went from my brows to the eyes and this was the outcome. The dramatic lashes livened the look even more and I received quite a lot of compliments, which we all love. I used only the NAKED 3 palette and I cannot wait to show you some Autumn inspired looks.

New In | Naked 2, Essie & Make Up For Ever

You guys have no idea how excited I was to try these products; especially the false eyelashes and the Make Up For Ever shadow. Three weekends ago I went to Copenhagen and it was a University related trip, it was a very abrupt departure which resulted in me being able to only stay there for a little over 24 hours. It was great because I finally met one of my good friends who unfortunately wasn't there when I went in the beginning of July. I had very limited time but I managed to find myself in make up heaven that is S-E-P-H-O-R-A. Truth be told I probably spent an hour to two in there, just walking back and forth and scavenging each and every beauty counter from Bobbi Brown, Benefit Cosmetics to Nars. I managed to keep my cool and walked out with only things I needed like false eyelashes :)

I'm lusting over...

I have a confession to make, recently I discovered my addiction (and comfort) with false eyelashes, there's just something about them and there are so many options out there and one can easily transform any basic looking into looking very lush. I've been wearing lashes almost everyday and only mascara on my lower lashes especially for work because my eyes are easily irritated with wearing mascara for a long period. Also winged liner is something I've doing for quite some time now and I'm starting to put more time in my face make-up than before.

I'm also really in need of a new hairstyle and as I said before, I want as big curly afro, thinking maybe crochet braids or a curly weave. I've yet to decide but probably in the next coming days I should have a new hairstyle and I'm very excited. For all my sistahs, ya'll know that feeling of having a new hairstyle that instantly transforms you into a 'new' person. Have you tried any of these products and if so, how did you like them?

Monthly Favourites | May

Beauty | May Favourites
'Metal Cherry' blush - Makeup Store // Vaseline // Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing powder - Too Faced // YSL Fusion Ink foundation // Blindfold me Blue - Rimmel London // Off the shoulder - Essie // L.A. Girl Pro.setting spray // Maybelline  lipstick in Vivid Rose 904 // L'Occitane hand cream

Last month I found myself experimenting quite a lot with beauty products. Firstly I would like to tell you guys about this amazing shea butter hand cream from L'Occitane, it smells and feels divine on the hands, it literally moisturises all cracks and I promise you that your hands will no longer be ashy. This YSL foundation was also featured in my previous 'favourites' post, I'm still loving it and perhaps a review might soon follow if anyone out there's interested; or you could simply watch reviews of it on YouTube. The Essie nail polish is something I tend to return to every now and then, it's especially great for the summer season as is the deep blue from Rimmel London.

New In | L.A. Girl, Barry M, Tanya Burr & Argan Moroccan Oil

Today I'm bringing you a haul, you might have noticed that I've toned down my shopping habits quite a bit and haven't been posting as many hauls as say last year or the year before. That's because I have other important things to invest my money in and also I'm just not as fond of posting 'hauls' as before I was before. Anyway here's a quick post featuring some recent buys, they range from nail polishes, lashes + mascara to hair products.

Monthly Favourites | March

I'm finally back for good, do expect a lot of posts to come from travelling and beauty related because I've done quite a bit of travelling in the past weeks and I've got a lot of photos to show you guys. Also I shopped a little bit while at it so there will be brand new outfit pics featuring the clothing items I purchased, I'm all positive because this month started well for me and I plan on keeping the positivity for the rest of the month and onto the next month as well.

Today I decided to post my March Favourites because I have some new items that I've been loving and wanted to share them with you all, hope you enjoy the post.

Beauty | Everyday Make-Up Look

This year will be one filled with lots of beauty related posts and this is only the beginning and I hope everyone's excited to see more. I have quite a couple of make up looks planned that will be on the blog for the future as well as my skin care regimen, I'm currently working on that and will be doing a review on the products that I'm using. Now to kick off the new week I'm going to show you my go-to make up look that I gravitate towards whenever I want to look decent in 15 minutes or less. Keep reading to know how I achieve this pretty simple look.

Beauty | Foundations
1. E.L.F Studio Flawless Finish Foundation // 2. Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation
3. Bobbi Brown Weightless Powder Foundation // 4. Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse
5. Bobbi Brown Foundation stick // 6. M.A.C Mineralize Moisture Foundation
7. Smashbox Liquid Halo Foundation // 8. Make Up Store Studio Foundation Powder
 9. Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Compact Foundation // 10. NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

I recently drained my M.A.C studio fix fluid foundation which I've been using for quite some time now alongside the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick. This means going on another hunt for the perfect foundation. As everyone already knows, M.A.C. cosmetics isn't the cheapest of brands so right now my aim is to find a few  good brands that are on the more affordable side. I've tried a couple of drugstore brands but they never seem to be dark enough for my skin tone and always leave me looking ashy. I'm starting to think that I might need to actually purchase two separate shades and mix them to get the desired shade or go back to splurging on the studio fix fluid.

I'm interested in trying the NARS and Bobbi Brown compact foundation although I'm quite certain that my shade of the BB one isn't in stock. Also no place here carries NARS which means I'd need to get mine online, that can be a hassle to find a site that ships to Iceland. Have you guys tried any of the above foundations and if so which top 3 would you recommend me to try out?

New In | Jewellery & Beauty

Georg V. Hannah necklace | Love Spell body mist | EOS lip balm | Spúútník necklace | Maybelline the Colossal volum' express mascara | Gosh crackle nail polish - Gold | Maybelline nail polish - Downtown Red

Today I wanted to show you guys a few things that recently got to join my growing collection of nail polishes, mascaras and jewellery. What can I say, I'm in need of serious help. I love my pendant necklace that one of my friends gifted  me for my graduation, it's so pretty and adds a great touch to any outfit. You will be seeing it quite a lot in the coming outfit posts. I've heard great things about this mascara and I'm looking forward to testing it out.
