Inspiration | July '14

A new month calls for an inspirational post with a few items I need lust for in my wardrobe/beauty counter. Now I haven't been shopping too much this past month (the Naked 3 palette in my last post is from long ago, just forgot to post about it), the reason's because I've been working like a crazy person, but I plan on treating myself to something good very soon. I'm just really trying to save as much money as I can because I have big plans ahead and I want to be financially stable when the time comes. Believe it or now but I've actually never purchased anything off of ASOS before... that's about to change soon.
Wishing you all a sunny and happy Thursday unlike the storm that's passing through over here. xo

Pharrell Williams Happy - We Are Happy: Bloggers Edition

Happy Monday loves! Hope your weekend was eventful, I just got done with a  12 hour shift at my new work place for the summer, I'm now working from the international airport which is exciting. It's a pretty tough job but so worth it and very fulfilling. I'll be there the rest of the summer and then it's back to school in August.

Anyway earlier this month I got asked by the lovely Diane of  http://dee-vineanonyme.com/ to be part of her take on the 'Happy' song by Pharell Williams, she decided to make a bloggers version of the song and it was so much fun recording this, I regret not making it longer though...
It was such a great experience for me and more lovely to see all the familiar faces in the video, I felt as if I knew them in real life. Thanks Dee for putting this together and making it happen, hope you guys like the video and it brights a smile to your face and don't forget to check out Diane's blog and the rest of the bloggers' blogs that took part in this awesome project. xo

Outfit | Oversized Shirt & High Waisted Shorts

Doing the songster signature pose.
Jacket - Vero Moda | Plaid shirt - Spúútník | 30STM tee - Merch store | Shorts - Nostalgía
 Beanie - Gyllti Kötturinn | Bag - Zara | Shoes - Ebay

Another outfit featuring my favourite and probably the most expensive piece as well, this leather jacket is making yet one more appearance on the blog. I'm unlike many bloggers that only wear many of their clothes only once, well I'm not so rich to be able to do that so being repetitive is the only way to go :). So when I find something I love I will wear it as much as possible although I also will be careful so it doesn't get spoiled or something. This jacket's been my favourite for very long now and I don't regret buying at all. It's a great staple and it's different from the usual black leather jackets. I loved wearing this outfit and it felt very 'me' like and on top of that it was very comfortable for a day out with friends.
I wish you all a great rest of the week and to those that have exams coming up like myself, good luck and stay hydrated!

Inspiration | May

Good morning loves, happy first day of May! Man does time fly, I remember like it was yesterday when it was January and I was talking about going back to school and dreading the oncoming semester but here I am already ending it and around Christmas this year I should be receiving my certificate. This is my birthday month and I'm so excited yet scared at the same time.

This is when my teenage years end and I'm quite sure if there is anything that I regret. I'm afraid of growing up and the responsibilities that follow reaching a certain age/stage is my life and being disorganised about the future is quite frightening. Not knowing what I will be doing i.e. in 5 years is tormenting. Oh and as for school I've passed 5/8 of my classes, this year I was only supposed to take 3 final exams but yesterday I found out that I passed my science class (I failed last year) and didn't need to take the final so that was HUGE news. It gives me more time to focus on the other 2 courses, and I must say they are quite difficult.

Now back to the main point of today's post, so I wanted to make a mood board for some pieces I'd like to add to my wardrobe and also these items depict the way I wish to dress this month. I will try and put more effort in my outfits so at least a larger amount of my clothes gets used and not just thrown behind the stash.
Today's Labour Day and I'm at home refueling after pulling all -nighters 2 nights in a row. Also I've got some exciting stuff coming up on the blog and I ordered a few things that I'll show when they arrive so stay tuned!

It's All About The Coat

'IT' coats fo Spring

Been seeing the light coats all over the internet lately and it's made me want to get myself one. I've been hunting for one on Ebay and other sites but still no luck. I won't give up just yet though because I'm not a quiter. I love the classic trench but the lighter one's more my thing and as well the waterfall type i.e. the coat on the left side. The colours above are so pretty too and that's what makes these coats perfect for spring.
Do you a coat like or and if not; then would you like one?

Fashion | American Music Awards '13

Hey hey, so the American Music Awards were last Sunday and I'm sure many of you fashionistas were watching to scoop the latest fashion on the red carpet. Myself I was too lazy to get out of bed and turn on the TV plus it was also very late and I had class early in the morning the very next day... but Instagram did sure keep me updated with everything, -fashion wise. This year I expected the starts to go all out with their outfits but actually they were most all toned down and very classy so it was a good change and also to see many of them fully dressed and not showing every aspect of their body to the whole world.
Below are my favourite looks from the awards, have a look at let me know in the comments which ones were your favourites.

Nicole Richie: was spotted rocking an Emilio Pucci dress which looked gorgeous on her figure, with that she added some Casadei shoes and a House of Harlow 1960 clutch. She also rocked a vintage Gucci ring and YSL earrings and necklace. Although I'm not too sure about those hip bones popping out, maybe if it had been closed on the frontal part then it'd have probably been even more sexier.

Naya Rivera: one of my many women crushes, she weeerked this long sleeved, floor length Michael Kors gown like no other. She showed just the right amount of cleavage and the open back was very sexy too. I loved the way she accessorised with gold jewellery. She definitely got people talking when stepping on and away from the red carpet!
Emma Roberts: wearing a Lanvin gown, Casadei shoes and a RODO clutch. I like her dress and I don't think it's too bad for her petite figure. Also the pop of pink from the clutch and shoes added a bit of colour to the all silver outfit.

Kendall Jenner: looked very chic in this Keepsake top and skirt, Manolo Blahnik shoes and a Dylanex necklace. With her figure I feel this outfit was perfect for her and adding that chunky statement necklace was the way to go for a bit of glam.

Kylie Jenner: the younger sister was spotting a Maiyet top, Giambatista Valli pants and some Barbara Bui shoes. Her outfit wasn't at the very top of my list but nonetheless she looked good and the thing that attracted me to her whole look was the bangs, I think they suit her pretty well.
Jordin Sparks: Jason Derulo's lady was rocking this gorgeous gold studded Jovani Couture dress with some Schutz shoes and jewellery by Pink Accessories. The was no way for me to not like this outfit, anything gold and studded I always love; so combining these two things together was pure love at first sight. I also adore the minimal make up and simple pony tail so that the focus was on this gorgeous dress.

Rihanna: Riri sure does loves her some Jean Paul Gaultier, A$AP ROCKY even mentions it in his song 'fashion killa'. When Rihanna stepped on the red carpet everyone went bonkers talking about how her hair looked like she was going to bed and whatever. I, on the other hand was busy admiring her outfit. It's so out there and we're getting a glimpse of some of her many tattoos. I absolutely loved the bra top!

Lady Gaga: this year I expected Mother Monster to go utterly crazy with her outfit but instead she came one looking very classy with her long locks in this fab Versace gown. I was in awe. But since the outfit wasn't too crazy, of course she had to find another way to make a scene and that was by coming on a human made pony. Way to go Gaga.
Christina Aguilera: looked somewhat elegant in this Maria Lucia Hohan dress with some Christian Louboutin shoes this year. I love her loose curls and this hairstyle definitely suits her face shape. The slits add some sexiness to the whole look because in my opinion if there weren't any cuts she'd look like a nun.

There you have it guys, my favourite looks from this year's AMA's. As you can see the whole monochrome look was really in trend. I'm jealous to the people that can rock white all the time. I've not always been a huge fan of wearing white as it gets dirty very fast, but I'm slowly easing into it. Which were your favourite looks this year and which trends are you diggin'?

Outfit | Fur + Bun

Good afternoon my beauties, January's coming to an end and to be honest I didn't do much this month (other than reading like a maniac, I managed to finish the book Grafarþögn for my Icelandic class in about 2-3 weeks). The post-Christmas sales are coming to an end as well and believe it or not; I haven't purchased a single thing. I'm saving my mula for important things and I'm very proud of myself.
Yesterday on my way to school I decided to take the tripod and my camera with me so that on my way home I would stop somewhere and shoot a couple of outfit photos, but one of my lovely friends offered to shoot for me which I was very happy about because there was so much wind yesterday and can you imagine my mini-self outside in the cold wind trying to pose and not break my expensive camera hahah.

I'm still feeling under the weather so I played a bit with layering, I have a tunic under my striped top, the fur vest and then the jacket to top it off.
My bun ended up being destroyed by the evil wind and my friend H didn't give me a heads up.

Coat | Fur Vest - Topshop | Striped top - H&M | Jeans - Amsterdam | Sneakers - Deichman | Earrings - Lindex

All Black Everything

Blazer | Old
Top | Gyllti Kötturinn (Vintage)
Bottoms | Sale
Shoes | K-mart
Casio | Pressie
Rings/Bangles | H&M x Lindex
Beanie
I wore this outfit last week but hadn't got the chance to post it until now. It was a Friday and for some random reason I felt like wearing black almost from head to toe. I didn't quite do that, but I was very close to succeeding.
School's been crazy, so far I've had two tests already, the first one I received a 9.0, today I got a 10.0, I've got another test tomorrow and another one on Friday. This is all in my Icelandic class, each day I have to read about 5 chapters! Goodbye social life.

Now I will return to my studies!

Just a random post of me showcasing a few of my favourite looks from this year. I can definitely see the difference in the way that I dress now compared to when I started this blog, I feel like now I get the sense of mix and matching clothing items a little better than before. I'm very excited for the new year and seeing how my style will evolve.

This is my last post of the year and I would like to thank you all for your beautiful and kind words and support through this year, all your encouraging words are very much appreciated and I'm so glad that you're all a part of my life. I don't know where this blog would be without your constant support.

I was planning on posting a short post about a few of my presents from this Christmas before the new year but unfortunately I will not be able to do so because I've fallen sick again, I seem to be getting the most random headaches ever. I could be eating and all of a sudden I will start experiencing massive pain towards my eyes. Today I went to work at 10pm and there the headache begun, also I've got fever + sneezing like crazy and instead of doing so in customer's faces, I decided to leave work and that's how I'm able to write this last post of the year. I've got a shift again tomorrow at the same time but I've got to see if I will be able to attend, if not I will simply call in sick.
Hopefully I won't be entering 2013 sick and alone in my bed because I want that midnight kiss this year lol.

I wish you a happy new year and thank you again for all your support through 2012. You're all amazing!

xoxo

Outfit | Chelsea Boots & Braces

Today's outfit, 7/09/12
Hello beautiful people, wishing you a pleasant weekend ahead.
My plans for the weekend were to party hard (for the last time before I become overwhelmed with my studies) and of course this goal will not be achieved due to my professors deciding to ruin my weekend by having us take two tests next week (ON THE SAME DAY!). Studying for English and History is what moi will be doing starting tonight.

There is not very much more to add to this post for now, in a few I will be preparing and going to my first yoga class with one of my friends (I happened to mention yesterday that we had purchased a gym membership for a month) and so our first class is today. I'm very excited as I have not done much of exercising over the summer break!

Wearing:
Glasses, scarf & top - H&M
Jacket - Rainbows? (D.C)
Braces/suspenders- Amsterdam
Bag - Copenhagen
Chelsea Boots - Charity Shop (will talk about them more later)

I'm off to clear my mind and burn some calories!

xoxo

Outfit | Chiffon Blouse

Necklace, Bangles, Bag - H&M // Sandals - New Yorker

Wore this outfit a while back (I'm too lazy to post outfit photos the same day as I wear them + busy preparing for school). I'm almost done paying for everything, only thing remaining in finish paying for the driving classes and try and find myself a car. Oh I feel so grown up now...

Today was the second day of school and damn it feels good to wake up in the morning, have my breakfast in peace and not worry about missing the bus because now I can easily drive if there's a car available. I did so today, almost hit someone whilst reversing from a parking space, thank god I didn't!

I'm already bored of school and wish it didn't start till the end of September or something...

xoxo

Excitement, excitement!!!

HELLO EVERYONE!!!
As you can see I'm very excited and happy today, hence the overly use of the exclamation mark . Most of you know that over the summer I have been aiming to get my driver's license before winter comes. And I achieved that goal. Before I left for my holidays, I took the written one, failed on the first try and passed on the second. Then now I got back from the holidays, my instructor fixed a date for me and that was today.

The funny this is that today's the first day of school so I missed 2 classes this morning and instead I went for my last driving lesson which came with a lot of information of do's and don'ts. Afterwards came the physical/driving test and to be honest I was quite anxious at first but then I got in the gear and I was a little more relaxed, it went as smooth as flowing water. AND I PASSED. Right now I have just a temporally confirmation letter so if the cops stop me I just show it to them.

Enough about that and here's an outfit I wore a few days back when I went to lunch with Van (please month end come fast cause I'm currently broke!)
                 Jacket - Rainbows // Beanie - H&M // Cardigan - Lefties // Bag - Barcelona

I wish you all a happy dayyy!

xoxo

Overly-excited-chic!

Outfit | Catching up date

Morning everybody and happy Saturday, since this is my working weekend I decided to take it easy in the morning. I've not done a lot of productive work but I cleared around the apartment a little bit and I'm currently mending the front of my head (some hair's have been falling out).
Today I'm sharing with y'all an outfit worn a couple days back, two of my friends and I met up for a ''catching up date" at the mall. We had some food and talked... a lot.
Keep on scrolling for more pictures :)
Vans // Bag - H&M // Skinny jeans - Outlet // Top - New Yorker //

I apologize for way too many mirror pictures guys, otherwise that's it for today. I hope you have a fun day doing whatever that you'll be doing. Today's the culture night so straight after work, a couple of girlfriends and I will be hitting the town... sadly I have work tomorrow as well :(

Outfit | Summer Holidays - Livingstone (#2)

Dress-New Yorker // Sandals-Zambia // Glasses-H&M

Today I'm presenting to you my second outfit off the 'summer holiday' outfits segment that I'm currently doing. This outfit was worn on one very bright and overly hot day in Livingstone, Zambia. After completing all our arrangements and tasks that needed to be done before leaving the country, we headed to Livingstone for a few days of relaxation and tourism. I got the chance to see one of the 7 wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls. I also got the chance to step foot in Zimbabwe...(well not quite, but at the bridge/border I got to cross over a line that divides the two neighbouring countries). It was such a great experience and I can't wait to go again when it's the rain season there, then the Falls is even as beautiful as ever!
