Cold-shoulder x Choker

Happy Sunday - today I'm sharing another inspo outfit for the summer trends that I like, if you missed out on the first two outfits, you can find them here & here. Honestly I'm really feeling the current trends for summer '16 and I can admit to having tried to style my outfits according to the trends which is something I try to restrain from because I'm a firm believer in having and staying to your personal style. Anyway recently I purchased a very pretty scarf that I had in mind to wear both as a turban and as a choker kind of thing, so excited to show you guys an outfit featuring it.

The look above was mostly styled around this gorgeous burgundy cold-shoulder top, I chose the same colour for shoes just to bring more attention to the top as well as to keep things co-ordinated, add a large tote and a bomber or leather jacket for warmth. I also could definitely see this look going well with minimal make-up and a bold Lady Gaga type winged liner. Of course you're always free to alter the look however way you desire seeing as this is just something to gather inspiration from.

Granny Effect

I promise you all, I do actually own more bags that the one pictured above. Myself I'm tired of seeing it again and again in my outfit posts lately so I kinda know how you all must feel. Anyway, today's outfit is one from about two weeks ago, I took mum out for a late lunch at one of my favourite spots - Snaps Bistro Bar, it's a hidden gem on Óðinstorg in Reykjavík. I'd also taken dad there last time he visited us and they both seemed to love the place so if you're ever in Iceland, make sure to check it out as they have a great menu with delicious food and not to mention their brunch is the best along with the one at Café Paris.

Lady in the Streets

It is surprising to see so much red in my recent outfit posts - well, actually not much of a surprise since most of the outfit pictures were taken in Berlin and I packed very light for a mere 5 days that I stayed there. I think it is safe to say that I managed quite alright with styling the same pieces in different ways, I will tell you though that the red Topshop handbag that I have been wearing constantly will be making more appearances on here.

MIDI SKIRT

This is one of my favourite and more 'colourful' skirts in my wardrobe, I just wish it got used more often but unfortunately the weather doesn't always allow. I took it with me to Berlin because my trip there also consisted of outfit shoots because I knew the weather would be so good - that's what I call seizing the moment. I bought it so long ago in a store here in Iceland called Gyllti Kötturinn, never would I have guessed that it would end up becoming my favourite vintage store.

ADIDAS JACKET

Yesterday I attended one of my friends' art show at the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts. It was a very long day because right after the event the students all gathered at one pub called Boston - It's located on the main shopping street and there we had the patio to ourselves which was great. I had such an amazing time and as I'm writing this post I'm actually exhausted. Seeing as I was going to an Art School, I decided to mix and match different prints and colours for this outfit - and this was the result.

Pop of Colour

Coat - Blend // Jumper - Gina Tricot // Playsuit, bag & hat - H&M // Socks - Topshop // Boots, necklace - Zara

Before heading out yesterday I knew I wanted to wear my playsuit from h&m, it offers quite a lot of cleavage but looks good, at first I actually planned on heading out the house with just some tights and a coat over, but then I remembered that I live in Iceland so unless I wanted to catch pneumonia, I shouldn't even have dared go out looking like I was headed for the club which is when I threw on this pink jumper from Gina Tricot. Loved the outcome and I was warm pretty much the whole day till the heat dropped down to -7°C and I got my cold ass home as quickly as I could. This outfit was mainly styled around this playsuit, I had to think of a way of wearing it and staying warm and this was the outcome.

How Would You Wear | Fall Outfit

Hey! Happy Friday. Here's November's installment of our 'How Would You Wear' challenge, which is something we do monthly along with other few bloggers. Each month we all vote on a theme to style our outfits from and post the outcome at the end of every month - the 20th. As you can see from the title of this post, our theme this month was 'Fall Outfit' and here's what I came up with. Keep reading for more pictures as well as if you're interested in seeing what looks the other ladies styled.

Hat, bag, boots - H&M // Shirt - JÖR // Fur vest, necklace - Topshop // Leather jacket -Vero Moda
Hello from Berlin! It's been a while, follow my [@stylekrush] instagram and there you'll find why I haven't had any time for blogging. Since the beginning of October I've either been working or playing tourist somewhere in the country side. It's currently 09:42 a.m here in Berlin and I arrived very early this morning, the flight was alright; I just regret not drinking more then maybe I'd have got a bit more sleep. This outfit is from a week ago, my friend and I decided to go out to enjoy some warm icelandic meat soup at Kaffi Loki; which is a café that has a great view towards the Hallgrímskirkja church in Reykjavík. That's it for today, I'll try to catch some sleep and then get my adventure going :)

Happy Wednesday beautiful people. I just wanted to thank you all for showing my last post so much love, it was great reading the comments although I wished more people would've participated. Today I have another outfit for you and it's featuring this Topshop vest-top that I got not too long ago. It's a perfect autumn/spring piece and can be styled in so many different ways. Here's one way I chose to wear it...

How Would You Wear | All-White Anniversary

Coat - Blend // Jumper - Sheinside // Jeans - Zara // Necklace - Topshop // Bag - H&M // Boots - Ebay
Hi guys, so today we're celebrating Diane's brilliant idea of the HWYW segment where each month a couple of bloggers together vote on a trend that we would like to style for that month. To celebrate this month we decided to go with the All-White theme; and if I'm not mistaken it was also our first ever trend when this challenge started. I opted for this Zara jeans once again, also added  my fuzzy jumper from Sheinside since it was quite chilly that day, topped off the look with a grey/black coat and a cobalt blue necklace for a bit of colour. And this look wouldn't be complete without a beanie :)

Make sure to also visit the other ladies' blogs who participated this month, I'll be updating the post once everyone shares their posts and pictures. x

Autumn is fast approaching and it's time to start preparing for it with warmer clothes, statement necklaces, [here] you can see some other pieces. Along with the statement pieces there's the story of switching up summer foundations and concealers for lighter shades for the cold season. I got a few things to get me started and that's what I'm here to show you today. Hope it inspires someone out there.

Inspiration | June

H/M
Mood Board | June '15

Hi lovelies. Today I wanted to post my June Inspiration. In about two and a half weeks I'll (hopefully) be attending a festival called Secret Solstice here in Iceland which will be held for the second time. I'm so excited and I'm already planning my outfits for all 3 days. It's from the 19th - 21st June and I am seriously at the verge of passing out from excitement. With that in mind I decided why not put together a few things that I feel like wearing or treating myself with this month, the collage consists of pretty much festival basics as I'd like to put it; there's the ripped jeans, a denim shirt dress, a dark eye shadow palette perfect for to create a grungy make up look and no festival outfit is perfect without a poncho. I especially have my eyes on a nude/camel vest.

What are your go-to festival pieces?

Birthday Wishlist

Birthday Wishlist

TGIF! What are you guys's plans for the weekend? Myself I'm free from work for 5 days straight which is great because I'm quite exhausted after working almost 8 days in a roll.. I know in the end it'll be worth it but it's not at all easy. Today I'll be running some errands and tomorrow I'll have some girls over for my early birthday celebrations and so of course I need to prepare. The dress above I saw in a Topshop store and I've had my eye on it and seeing as my birthday is next Tuesday, who knows maybe it'll be featured in an upcoming outfit post; that is if it's not already sold out.

This wishlist pretty much sums up how I'm currently feeling and what sort of vibes I'm feeling, I seem to be loving leather quite a lot and also as you can see, B-L-A-C-K. At work I've been wearing a mixture of white and black so it'll be great to step into something a bit different, and I can rock my septum piercing. That's it for today, hope you've had a good week and enjoy your weekend!

Get The Look | Rihanna in Paris

It's been long since I last blogged and there's a good reason for that. These past two weeks have been quite hectic, if you follow me on Instagram you might know that lately I haven't really been home much. At the beginning of the month I went to Copenhagen for 5 days where I was visiting a friend who I hadn't seen in over 2 years and also we were having her birthday celebrations so you can imagine how little time I had for blogging, plus I was hangover a majority of the time I was there. After that I went back home for 2 days and then last Thursday mum and I flew to Amsterdam where we are currently, this was a University/mother-daughter related trip. Today's out last night and we have an early flight tomorrow so I'll be very tired once we get home :(

Moving on to the purpose of this post, it's the second post from my 'Get The Look' segment where I recreate outfits I see on celebrities or anywhere on the web for a lot less. In case you missed the first post you can find it here where I recreated a look from Rosie Huntington. Today's look is inspired by the always fashionable Rihanna, she wore this look during PFW and I just loved how laid-back yet stylish she looked; which is something I seem to be gravitating more towards these days. I fell in love with her hair and the oversized leather and shearling jacket and decided to come up with my version of the outfit and this is the result, I feel my look is more simplified that hers. Would you wear this outfit?

New In | Basic Tees, Clutch & Jewellery

Shoes, Clutch - Zara | Necklace, Earrings - Topshop
Vest - Gallerí 17 | Crop top - Corner
Loose fit tees - Zara
Coming to you with a quick post featuring a few of my recently purchases. Lately I've been loving to rock loose-fit tees and it's a plus if they are in a white or grey colour. Before I despised white but now I love it and am constantly searching for the next piece of clothing to add to my wardrobe. It's funny how things can change unexpectedly isn't it? I never in a million years would have guessed that I'd actually wear white clothing. I'm going to start packing for my trip tomorrow morning and I doubt that I will be blogging a lot while there but do follow me on Instagram where I will most likely be very active. How To Style a Fuzzy Jumper 3 Ways

Today's post is dedicated to this cosy Sheinside jumper that you might have already seen - here and here. I challenged myself to style the jumper in 3 different ways and I'm quite happy with the end results. It was fun putting together the outfits and even more fun to take the pictures. Keep on reading to see the other two options and let me know which one is your personal favourite.

Get The Look | Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Get the look | Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Happy Sunday loves. I recently came across this picture of the beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and really loved her laid-back off duty look so I decided to re-create the look for a lot less. She has on a Isabel Marant Ziggy wool coat that runs for £825! Not all of us can afford to pay that amount of money for a coat so I created a more affordable look with a chicnova coat, added a pair of high waist Topshop jeans and a pair of affordable knee-high boots, top off the look with a floppy hat to protect your hair and to add a bit of chicness. What do you guys think?

Inspiration | Perfect Autumn 'fit

I recently purchased the perfect white high rise jeans from Zara - you can see them here. I've been wearing them a lot and this is one of the ways I find perfect to style them while still staying warm this autumn. The denim shirt (or any kind of shirt for that matter) will look great and add different texture and colour to the outfit. The black jumper and the rest of the accessories are to tie down the look together, add some gold jewellery and you're ready to step out.
Today I was too lazy to wake up for school so I'm going to study from home, gonna hit the gym now to freshen myself up,prepare my cup of black coffee and then it's straight to my books. x
