Stedelijk Museum | Amsterdam

http://www.stedelijk.nl/en

The Stedelijk Museum is located in the Museum quarter of Amsterdam. It's a modern and contemporary visual arts museum with multiple special exhibitions during the year. It's the first museum I've visited since moving here and I definitely wasn't disappointed. At the time that I went, there was a J. Tingueley exhibition, he's known for his kinetic art, i.e. metamechanics. After the museum, my friend and I stopped at a vintage café where we indulged in a cheese plater and some glühwein.

Day Trip To Utrecht

H/M

Hoola! Man it's been so long since I updated the blog. My last post was on the 5th of December...
But I'm somewhat back now and today I want to share with you a an outfit from when I visited Utrecht for the first time - actually the second time - but this time I actually explored the city. It was a very fun experience to finally see the place because last year I'd also applied to the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. I got accepted but chose to go with Amsterdam. Anyway I hope you enjoy the photos and now I'm finishing up my 3rd period and exams are right around the corner so it's revision time once again :/

Marktplaats Vintage Show

I'm back with another post, it's an outfit that I wore last Tuesday when I attended a fashion show by Marktplaats at Vondelkerk. The show took place at Amsterdam's Vondel church (by the famous Vondel Park, which between you should visit if you're even in the city). The runway was walked by Dutch influencers from beauty & fashion bloggers, lifestyle bloggers and vloggers as well.

Everyday Sparkle

Trench - Vero Moda // Trousers - Gyllti Kötturinn // Heels - Zara // Bag - Monki

Hello again! I just wanted to pop in and let you guys know that I'm still alive. I started Uni and it's definitely taking its toll on me, I have endless work and projects to finish in such a short period of time and soon I'll be having my first exams after almost a 2 year break from books! Because of that, I felt I needed to take a break from blogging and focus on getting my routine together. I honestly have no idea how to balance the two, so for now I'll definitely stick to posting on here whenever possible.
Today's outfit is one I wore a while ago for a friend's surprise birthday party. I wore my trusty leather pants with a sequin crop-top and topped it off with a trench jacket.

Till next time! xx

Dining at Argentína Steikhús

H/M
Happy Sunday! Last Friday mum took me to a restaurant called Argentína Steikhús seeing as I'd just completed my last shift at work for the summer and also it had been long since the two of us went out for dinner. It was my first time eating there and I had such a great experience, I'll definitely be going back for their white chocolate mousse dessert. We were there for almost 4 hours just chatting and indulging in scrumptious dishes.

Berlin Zoological Garden

H/M
I got this pretty dress and another one from Pimkie, I haven't had the chance to shoot the other dress but trust and believe I'll be showcasing it on here as soon as I can + if the weather allows. The white one is probably my favourite because the off-shoulder thing has definitely grown on me and I currently find myself on a hunt for a tightly fitted off-shoulder dress with maybe 3/4 sleeves...

Lady in the Streets

H/M
It is surprising to see so much red in my recent outfit posts - well, actually not much of a surprise since most of the outfit pictures were taken in Berlin and I packed very light for a mere 5 days that I stayed there. I think it is safe to say that I managed quite alright with styling the same pieces in different ways, I will tell you though that the red Topshop handbag that I have been wearing constantly will be making more appearances on here.

Striped Little Black Dress

H/M
Hi, I'm back with another outfit. I wore this one on my Birthday back when I was in Berlin. I opted for a dress because that day I felt like being more feminine with my outfit choice and this was the end result. I loved rocking this outfit and felt very confident, on top of that, I got some weird looks from people because I was literally strolling in the streets to find a lunch spot in them. To some of you they may seem very uncomfortable; but believe me, they are very comfortable and I can go long hours in them.

How Would You Wear | Off-Shoulder

Good afternoon from Berlin! I've been here since Tuesday and as always, I love it. I always appreciate travelling to different cities because I feel it helps me grow as an individual and it's overall better to refresh mind the mind in a new environment. This post was actually supposed to go up last night but I was just too exhausted to work on it so that's what I've been doing all morning and seeing as I'm finally finished, I'm about to get ready and head out to explore, I think I'd love to check out some museums today or go sailing.

ADIDAS JACKET

Yesterday I attended one of my friends' art show at the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts. It was a very long day because right after the event the students all gathered at one pub called Boston - It's located on the main shopping street and there we had the patio to ourselves which was great. I had such an amazing time and as I'm writing this post I'm actually exhausted. Seeing as I was going to an Art School, I decided to mix and match different prints and colours for this outfit - and this was the result.

VINTAGE LOVE

HI! You guys have no idea how excited I actually am as I'm writing this post. I literally want to exclaim every single sentence up in here. Anyway, I decided to start my routine with an outfit post. I wore this outfit two weekends ago, I'd recently purchased the two pieces that I'm seen wearing and didn't want them stashed somewhere in my wardrobe without being used, so I gathered the girls over at our place for some wine and talk then we headed downtown. Plus these pieces are second-hand and were a total of $16.00 - I definitely don't hate that. I really liked the outcome of mixing the leather pants with an over-sized blazer.

The Trench

Hello loves, hope you're having an awesome week. Mine's going alright, I've got two more days of work and then it's onto a 5 day 'sleepcation', The days I'll be free I'm planning on resting and recharging my batteries as I feel quite exhausted as we speak.
I wore this outfit sometime last week when I went for ice cream and coffee, the sunset that day was beautiful so we got ourselves some ice cream and ended up enjoying it in the car parked at the Reykjavík Harbour. It was overall a gorgeous day that was definitely well spent!

How I run errands

I'm officially off work the next 5 days! I'm excited to relax at home and recharge my batteries as well as spend some time with my dear mum. I also have to run a few errands during my free time, and hopefully if the weather allows then maybe they'll be an outfit or two on here next week. But for now, here's an outfit from when I was running some errands last week. I got the long checkered vest off of Ebay and was styling it for the 2nd time. Mum begged me to take the ''extra hanging material off of me''; because apparently it ruined the outfit, but I actually like how it turned out and went about my day.

Mum's Graduation Ceremony

Hey everybody, hope you're having a relaxed Sunday evening. Yesterday my mum received her B.A Degree in Social Education from The University of Iceland so you know it was a long joyous day. On Friday night before we prepared some food and got beverages ready for Saturday as we wouldn't have time to prepare everything from scratch after the graduation ceremony. We got up very early on Saturday morning and helped mum get ready - outfit styling and make-up by yours truly.

The Portable Blanket

H/M
This past week's been quite hectic with work and I've also finally added the gym to my weekly routine again, I can proudly say that I've been actually going H.A.M at the gym this month. This outfit is my kind of thing, comfortable trousers, oversize coat and a huge scarf to keep myself warm. It's exactly this type of outfit that you're most likely to find me wearing, or the opposite -very tight jeans. I wore it to an afternoon of good food and coffee with dad.

New In | Platform Sandals

Heels - Zara // (similar)

I snatched this beautiful light pink pair a while back from Zara, they were displayed from a distance and I immediately headed for them, coming to find that they were the very last ones and in my size... it's like they were just sitting there all lush waiting to come home with me. What made me fall in love with them was the colour, it's not too loud which I like, and how chunky the heel is.
Chunky = comfort (in most cases), they fit like a glove and I cannot wait to take them out for a spin; hopefully over the weekend!

Cheetah print with a twist

These Zara bottoms are finally making a comeback in 2016. I probably only used them once or twice last year which is sad, but if you think about it, that's another way to feel as if a certain piece is new to your wardrobe. I got them aaaaages ago so you probably won't find them anywhere. I love that they're pink and imprinted with black cheetahs. I was in a rush when getting ready and this was the outcome. I threw on a headscarf because I was half-way done with installing box braids and I didn't want to look like a crazy woman.

Pop of Colour

Coat - Blend // Jumper - Gina Tricot // Playsuit, bag & hat - H&M // Socks - Topshop // Boots, necklace - Zara

Before heading out yesterday I knew I wanted to wear my playsuit from h&m, it offers quite a lot of cleavage but looks good, at first I actually planned on heading out the house with just some tights and a coat over, but then I remembered that I live in Iceland so unless I wanted to catch pneumonia, I shouldn't even have dared go out looking like I was headed for the club which is when I threw on this pink jumper from Gina Tricot. Loved the outcome and I was warm pretty much the whole day till the heat dropped down to -7°C and I got my cold ass home as quickly as I could. This outfit was mainly styled around this playsuit, I had to think of a way of wearing it and staying warm and this was the outcome.

3 Last Minute Looks for NYE

Instagram | Tumblr | Pinterest Lookbook | Twitter | Bloglovin

It's finally New Years Eve which means it's time to put together an outfit for the magical night -or perhaps most of you already have an idea of what you'll be wearing. Myself I'm kind of a last-minute person and also this NYE for me will be spent working so the'll be no going out on my part. I put together three gorgeous outfits to inspire those who still have no clue as to what they want to wear.
NYE | Nude Trench

Outfit 1 // What I absolutely adore about this outfit is the trench coat, I mean how can one not? To me it appears to be the correct and perfect cut, colour and warm enough to wear on a cold night out. I decided to pair it with a nude loose blouse which can easily be switched up for a white one. A light bronze-y smokey eye would go well with the outfit and seeing as there's no sparkle, a sparkly pair of heels and a dark lipstick would polish the outfit nicely.

NYE | B e r r y

Outfit 2 // The items used above are quite expensive but I felt it wouldn't be a problem because this post is to inspire you with ideas and not for anyone out there to go splurge over $1.000 on a pair of sequined trousers just for the sake of it. Anyway, I really like the trousers above and I'll try to hunt down a similar pair for myself. I added a black fitted blazer to balance the look and added some burgundy accents like the lipgloss, nail polish and bag to bring out the berry colour in the trousers. A winged liner would settle the look very well in my opinion.

NYE | Classy ways

Outfit 3 // Look at how beautiful this ASOS dress is, from the bodycon to the spaghetti straps; it's literally perfect and affordable, which is always a plus. The look can be worn with tights or bare-legged, it's could be styled in a casual or fancy way, just go with whichever way floats your boat. A faux fur for warmth is perfect and the above navy one is not too overpowering and definitely leaves the dress to shine. Make-up wise, a dark sultry smokey eye would be suitable and finish off the look with either a red or nude lipstick. Personally I'd choose a red one because not all of us are into nudes... pun intended.

Hope this post was of help and remember, it's not all about owning the most expensive item but grasping inspiration from that expensive piece and adjusting it to your lifestyle by either styling an outfit based off of it or simply finding an alternative. It makes no sense to spend a fortune on a single sequined dress which you'll most likely wear once. If you are interested in other NYE looks then check out 3 outfits I put together for last years' New Years - Outfit 1 // Outfit 2 // Outfit 3

Wishing everyone a happy New Year ahead of us!
