"Electric Blue" - Yamamay Beauty

Happy Wednesday. Hope you're all having a fantastic week so far. Monday and yesterday I was free from work and the sun was shining, although it was still quite chilly. Nonetheless I made sure to make the best of the day and went for a stroll down town with one of my friends. We had some macaroons and it was overall just a very chilled day because starting today I'll be working six days straight!

I'll be showing you an outfit from yesterday later but first this nail polish I have on, I bought in in Milan last year along with two others (that I'll eventually show on here as well). It's by a brand called Yamamay, apparently it's very famous out there and I recall seeing Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad shoot a campaign with them about a year ago. This colour's very opaque and only requires one coat but I'm so used to always adding a second coat. It has a small brush so it's perfect if you have really short nails and I highly recommend it.

Hope everyone's well. I spent the past week mostly at home sick, eating a lot and exercising very little and watching a lot of documentaries; especially VICE and National Geography ones. I like learning even though I'm on summer break but this is a more fun way to do it and I'm all for that.
Lately there hasn't been much time nor inspiration for outfit picture taking and all that comes with it so for today's post you guys get to see some of my favourite outfits from the past couple of months. It's no surprise that this goddamn Vero Moda/Only leather jacket is in almost all of the outfit pics, but I cannot help my love for it. Goes with EVERYTHING plus it's a great item to add warmth for our unpredictable weather. Today I'm free from work so I should be seeing some friends and I plan on dressing up just because I can.

Hair | Curly Babe

I'll soon be taking down my braids but before that I decided to revamp the hair a bit by adding some curls to make it feel a little brand new and wearing it possibly through this month because I have no time to sit down and get to taking them down and getting something new down. I plan on wearing this until I'm able to do that which isn't until in about two weeks or so. I'm in love with the results and I feel like I just got my hair done; expect for the pain that you experience the first few days...

Here's how I achieved my 'new' look:
1. Undo all of your braids about 3/4 or in my case I usually stop where my natural hair ends
2. Separate hair into small sections and braid very tightly for tight curls and vice versa
3. Gather together hot water in a kettle, a bow and a towel
4. Wet the braids with the water and soak each braid for about half a minute for it to be smooth
5. Dry hair and undo braids
6. Separate the curls, spritz with leave-in conditioner and moisturise if you need to and you've got yourself a brand new do.

There you have it, let me know below if you've tried this method before, I always use hot water to get my extensions curly. Also I'm looking into weaves for my next do, I want 100% Brazilian or something that is of great quality and that I can use heat on. If you guys purchase your hair online then please do let me know below off of which websites you order them from. All tips and tricks are much appreciated. xo

Nails | Sparrow Me The Drama

Nail polishes used:
Maybelline Color Show - 197 Chalk Dust
GOSH - 569 Flamingo
O.P.I - Sparrow me the drama

I haven't posted anything nail related on here for quite a while so I decided to show you guys these three polishes that are currently my favvourites and also the way I like combining them for a cute and quirky look. If you have been following my blog long enough then you know that one of my favourite ways of painting my nails is have solid colours on all my nails apart from the ring finger; otherwise know as the 'accent nail' where I usually paint a totally different color and will probably add some glitter as well, but in this case I added the Maybelline black and white polish.
What is your favourite way of painting your finger nails? Let me know below.xo

Beauty | Battle of the Face Masks

Face Masks

Being an avid reader of other beauty and fashion blogs I'm always on the lookout for new products/pieces of clothing or jewellery to try. The great thing about it is that after reading reviews from a couple of bloggers it either leaves me excited to purchase the product... or not and I personally feel it's good to know back in my mind how that certain product/item worked for the other person. Half of the time I don't end up being disappointed.

As of late I have been going through a lot of stress and my skin, especially the T-zone area has been breaking out like crazy. I have had problematic acne prone skin for about 3 years now but always had control over it and all that but recently the breakouts are increasing and I am experiencing very bad scaring.
I have used various masks and that felt like they work but after a few days my skin goes back to feeling 'fat' and whatnot. I've been eating healthy and have salads at most thrice a week, I workout and sleep 7-8 hours each night so I am not totally sure why this is happening right now.

Above are some of the facial masks that I find quite interesting after doing a bit of research, I really like what each and every one of them is said to do for your skin, most importantly I would really like to try the Pink Clay one seeing as it is said to be 100% natural with no additional artificial colours nor scents, very similar to the Body Shop one. I actually have easy access to most of these items it is just a matter of whether they are in stock at my work place or not... I shall later show you which one I will set my mind on and probably do a quick demonstration as well

Happy Sunday guys. As I've mentioned before the weather here isn't very summer-like. It rains, then the sun comes out for only about 1-2 hours WHEN I'm working and then disappears again and it's back to rain and gloomy skies. The next day this routine repeats itself and it's very frustrating, all I ask for is a bit of sun to take some summer appropriate outfits.
Anyway the other day I went ahead and set my tripod and camera ready, put on a somewhat of a summery outfit and shot some pictures indoors just to give you guys a break from the heavy coats and whatnot. Loved the results and I'll definitely be doing more of this, and as soon as I finish taking the photos I go straight back into my comfy PJ's.

Monthly Favourites | June

BOBBI BROWN Foundation Stick in Walnut (8): this is my summer go-to foundation for quick yet effective coverage without feeling heavy faces compared to if I were using a liquid foundation, which is normally what I opt for during the winter season.

Gosh Velvet lipstick in Kitch (86): I cannot put this lipstick away, I've  been adding a few more to my collection but this one still remains my favourite. It's a great 'get me up' product and putting this one on always leaves me feeling good.

FM Make up concealer in Dark Caramel: FM is a distribution business thingy like Herbalife and I saw that they had some women of colour friendly products thus I went ahead and tried their concealer. It works for me, the coverage ins't all that but it's quite light and I usually just apply it to my problematic areas and add a bit of powder then I'm out the door.
Atrix intensive hand cream: there's no arguing that this is the best hand cream our there, at least from what I've tried and I can sure tell you that I've been around when it comes to hand creams. It's rich and thick, perfect for dry and brittle hands + nails.

Maybelline the Rocket volum' express mascara: I've talked about this mascara before, here and here. It's literally the best mascara I've tried too. It gives great length and doesn't get sticky and thick like some mascaras do.

Blistex: I used to hate this lip product mostly because of it's strong scent and the tingly feeling it left me with after application but once I had an allergic reaction and had swollen lips which left me with very dry lips and I decided to give the blistex another try, it's all I've been using since winter!
Lavender essential oil: very relaxing scent that I both apply to parts of my body that hurt or feel swollen but mostly I use it for sleeping. I dab a few drops on my pillow and the rest of the night I sleep like a baby.

Gosh eye liner pen: Doing the winged liner is like the best thing for me right now, been rocking it for work, school, shopping and dinners. Pretty much any occasion and I feel this eyeliner gives me the best results.

O.P.I - SPARROW ME THE DRAMA: a beautiful baby pink polish that's perfect on both toe nails and finger nails. It goes well with any outfit and perfect for everyday.

Those are my favourite products of the month of June, the mascara's been featured in three monthly favourites posts so that just goes to show how much I really love it. Also I've started to go to the gym recently and I feel much better, will update you guys on that later :)

New NAKED 3 palette

Just a few recent pics from my Instagram account. I haven't been as active these days because of work and plainly because the weather here sucks! We've got non-stop rain and storms going on for a whole week and it's just very uninspiring, all I want to do nowadays is go to work and come back straight to my warm and comfortable bed.

World Cup '14 | Part 2

Instagram | Tumblr | Pinterest Lookbook | Twitter | Bloglovin

I'm here with yet another post featuring two looks that are perfect for the World Cup matches this year. Depending on the person you'll either consider the looks too dressy or not but I think they are great for those who want to still look stylish even if it's just for a football game. I'm one of those people because I'm usually wearing work clothes so whenever I get the chance to wear something else I make sure to put a bit more effort.
Untitled #36

This first outfit is everything to me, I could see myself wearing everything. I'm still on the hunt for my pair of boyfriend jeans and now I'm starting to think that I probably need to turn to Ebay as it seems that everthing in stores is either too tight or loose on me. The bralette and the blush jacket add a very soft feminine touch to the entire look.

Untitled #35
Lace kimono // Crop top // Shorts // Nail polish - Formula X by Sephora - similar

For this look I worked onto styling it around the shorts, it's best to combine solid colours with great contrast in my opinion and adding colour with maybe one or two items. This is a very laid back look with TOMS for comfort and a slouchy lace kimono. The crop top is from Topshop.
Which of the two is your favourite and what would be your ideal outfit for a football game? xx

Outfit | Pretty In Pink

Top - H&M | Shoes - Roots | Bag - Zara

I cannot believe that this is actually from the summer 2012, it's crazy how time flies. I was attending a wedding and it was windy so I just went with some floral jeans with a matching pink blazer to keep things cool. I was feeling this outfit, very comfortable and laid-back. Today I'm working and hopefully later I'll go see Transformers 4; so excited to see me some Mark Walhberg... he's my boo :)

Inspiration | July '14

A new month calls for an inspirational post with a few items I need lust for in my wardrobe/beauty counter. Now I haven't been shopping too much this past month (the Naked 3 palette in my last post is from long ago, just forgot to post about it), the reason's because I've been working like a crazy person, but I plan on treating myself to something good very soon. I'm just really trying to save as much money as I can because I have big plans ahead and I want to be financially stable when the time comes. Believe it or now but I've actually never purchased anything off of ASOS before... that's about to change soon.
Wishing you all a sunny and happy Thursday unlike the storm that's passing through over here. xo

New In | NAKED 3 & Converse

Converse All Star // Naked 3 60$ at Sephora

It's very strange to think that July is already here and in only two months I will be returning to school for hopefully what will be my last and final year before I head into the working world. Last month I posted a wishlist post and on there was the Urban Decay Naked palette, I'd posted that whilst my parents were abroad and I really wanted that palette but since it was out of stock, or maybe they've stopped selling it I have no idea. They ended up not finding it and instead got me the Naked 3 and to be honest I prefer it over the first one because I feel these colours are more daily appropriate and all contain hints of gold which is the kind of eye shadows I gravitate more towards. It also came with two freebies; a pack of 'show some skin' weightless foundation with SPF 30, unfortunately I think the four foundations in it are a tad too light for my skin tone. Then there's the highly raved about primer potion which I'm excited to use.
Oh and I also got my first pair of converses in this gorgeous cobalt blue colour, they make a statement of their own and great to add colour to a outfit.
