Home Decor | Minimal living

Home Decor lust list #1

In exactly 20 days I shall be relocating to another city for my University studies, my flight and apartment are all sorted. I have recently discovered myself going a bit crazy with my home decor pins on Pinterest, I thought why not give you insight into how I plan on decorating my tiny apartment - when it all comes together I will definitely share with you more pictures. My current situation has come to feel very cluttered (both mind and surrounding), so when I move I plan on trying a more minimal way of living thus the title of this post. I really love that sofa and lamp, would not mind having them in my place - plus there will most definitely be a lot of greens too.

Do you live alone or with friends? Let me know below because I'd really love to know how you've decorated or how you would do it if you were to live alone?

TODAY

Today I started my day off with a much needed facial cleanse courtesy of my lovely mother. My appointment was at 11 am and being the time management freak that I am, I was going to get there on time but then I got stuck in traffic... I was a bit disappointed for arriving 3 minutes late. The lady was nice though and told me that it was all cool. I'm a firm believer in getting to my appointments/meetings on time, like if we have to meet at a certain time, I expect you to be there and not arriving 30 minutes or even an hour late - I would have rather stayed at home then instead of you wasting my time.

After my facial, I met up with mum for lunch and later on I met a friend downtown, we got ourselves some lunch and refreshments and then walked to a well-known attraction in the city centre (it's highly popular when the weather's good hence us going there). We had a chat at Austurvöllur while enjoying our food and the great weather. Later on we decided to change locations and went to Klambratún - where the kjarvalsstaðir Art Gallery is located, it's a massive park and there it was even better. Bigger and greener surroundings with no noise from already drunk people from nearby restaurants/bars.

What did your day consist of?

Perfect Summer Dress

H/M
My final outfit from my trip to Berlin. This gorgeous number I'm seen rocking is from Pimkie and it's definitely my favourite casual dress to wear. I love the dainty prints on it and also the fact that it's off-shoulder (hey summer trend!). I also took it with me to Denmark and seeing as the weather there was amazing - it was the perfect light dress to get me through the heat. This is the second time this dress is making an appearance on the blog, you can find the first look hereHappy Sunday folks!

Cold-shoulder x Choker

Happy Sunday - today I'm sharing another inspo outfit for the summer trends that I like, if you missed out on the first two outfits, you can find them here & here. Honestly I'm really feeling the current trends for summer '16 and I can admit to having tried to style my outfits according to the trends which is something I try to restrain from because I'm a firm believer in having and staying to your personal style. Anyway recently I purchased a very pretty scarf that I had in mind to wear both as a turban and as a choker kind of thing, so excited to show you guys an outfit featuring it.

The look above was mostly styled around this gorgeous burgundy cold-shoulder top, I chose the same colour for shoes just to bring more attention to the top as well as to keep things co-ordinated, add a large tote and a bomber or leather jacket for warmth. I also could definitely see this look going well with minimal make-up and a bold Lady Gaga type winged liner. Of course you're always free to alter the look however way you desire seeing as this is just something to gather inspiration from.

May & June in photos

Saturday selfie, used the Naked 3 palette + Tivoli in Copenhagen

At the beginning of June I went to Copenhagen to visit friends and also to attend Distortion; which is a 4 day festival held in the streets of CPH. They literally close certain streets for all vehicular traffic and they are many stages all over with all different types of music. All you had to do was bring your own alcohol and enjoy the different genres of music and the crowd was insane so make sure to bring comfortable shoes because you'll have people stomping on you!

Granny Effect

I promise you all, I do actually own more bags that the one pictured above. Myself I'm tired of seeing it again and again in my outfit posts lately so I kinda know how you all must feel. Anyway, today's outfit is one from about two weeks ago, I took mum out for a late lunch at one of my favourite spots - Snaps Bistro Bar, it's a hidden gem on Óðinstorg in Reykjavík. I'd also taken dad there last time he visited us and they both seemed to love the place so if you're ever in Iceland, make sure to check it out as they have a great menu with delicious food and not to mention their brunch is the best along with the one at Café Paris.

July Goals

Outfit details - here

"The big questions is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure."
- Joseph Campbell

As I'm writing this post I'm on cloud 9... literally! I just took quite big steps towards making my dreams become a reality, I actually come to find that I've been lacking in the -positivity- department so what I did was I purchased a book by Jen Sincero called You are a Badass: How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life. It's a great book that's impacting my life in ways I couldn't think a book could. I'll be sharing more later, hopefully when I've completed reading the book.
Anyway, today I'll be sharing with you all some of my goals to accomplish for this month so here it goes.

In July I want to:

- Complete reading You are a Badass by Jen Sincero

- Continue being social

- Re-organise and declutter my wardrobe

- Get rid of the resting bitch face & smile often

- Spend a weekend at a summer house

- Finish knitting my 2 jumpers for winter

- Start practising yoga again

- Get into the habit of eating breakfast every morning (this is a nightmare of mine, no matter how much I try, I can never seem to have enough time in the mornings)

Those are some of the things I plan on accomplishing this month, I'll be touching up more on my plans about the next coming months as I've got some VERY exciting news I cannot wait to share with you all - I decided to share it later as I don't want to jinx anything.

Till next time. x

Happy Hour

Happy Saturday loves, today I'm sharing an outfit I wore not too long ago when my friend and I met up for an impromptu happy hour outing - we was thuuuuursty! As always, I wanted to feel comfortable and so I opted for a latest edition in my wardrobe which is the H&M side slit top, the material's so comfortable and I've used it a couple of times when travelling, I then added my Ebay bargain to add more colour and warmth yet not feeling too hot. I've shown you the jacket before and you can find that post here.

Berlin Zoological Garden

H/M
I got this pretty dress and another one from Pimkie, I haven't had the chance to shoot the other dress but trust and believe I'll be showcasing it on here as soon as I can + if the weather allows. The white one is probably my favourite because the off-shoulder thing has definitely grown on me and I currently find myself on a hunt for a tightly fitted off-shoulder dress with maybe 3/4 sleeves...
