Nails | Mix n' Match

I haven't been on here for quite some time now but that is because of my new summer job and I've just been working on getting organised and so forth. I will resume my normal blogging probably starting next week or the week after, but I will try my hardest to post at least once a week if not more. There's just a lot happening and if I'm not working then I'm sleeping. Did my nails this mix of polka dots and some triangles, wasn't too happy with the results but I loved the colours that I used. I've been doing a bit of shopping here and there so expect some 'new in' posts very soon.

Dress - Sheinside

My first order from Sheinside came in sometime back but kinda laid off showing you guys the items I'd bought. I  knew about the site a long time ago after like they had started their business and every YouTube vlogger/beauty blogger and guru was raving about them. I was going to order myself a couple of goodies and seeing as they had mixed reviews it sort of set me off buying anything from there. About a month ago I took the plunge and ordered this cute dress that looked really good on some people than it does me. It was meant to be my birthday dress for the year but didn't do anything special and thus I have yet to wear it.

It was relatively cheap and the quality isn't that good either, guess I got what I paid for. Also shipping took so long and I had sent them multiple emails just to check if my order hadn't gone through or what. But stick around because I will try and make it work.

Ok.-:)
I'm very thankful to have yet another year added to my life. I cannot believe that I'm leaving my teen years behind. I remember as if it were yesterday that I spent all my days playing and coming home all dirty with sand in my hair... poor mum. I guess I've not yet got the 'feels' of being a grown up, or perhaps I was a 20+ year old trapped in a teenagers' body.  My teen years weren't all too bad actually, I went through some bad and good phases but that's life right, I've learned to turn the negative into positive and told myself that life does move on and as they said, time is indeed the healer of all wounds although they get a crack from time to time. We must learn to leave the past behind and not let it drag us backwards.

Sadly I didn't do anything special for my birthday; the first reason being that I was working and second, I'm not one to hold massive parties whereas I love a quiet dinner with my loved ones and that's exactly what I did tonight. My mother cooked my favourite Zambian dish for dinner Sometime this week or coming weekend I plan on possibly going out with some friends but we'll have to see about that.
Thanks to everyone that's been following me through my teen years and witnessing those horrible outfits, especially from when I had just started blogging - because I know a few people have been around since I was like 16/17. Thank you.

Outfit | Green

H/M
Scarf - Zara | Bottoms & Booties - H&M

I'm not too keen on these pictures because they were taken right after spending 10 hours straight of studying, but I've just decided why not post them seeing as I don't have time to take new ones with this jumper that I really want to show you guys how it looks on. You can wear it with pretty much anything; it'd look very good tucked into some high waist skirt or even on top a dress. Although the weather's becoming a little warmer, it's still wearable on this side of the globe. You'll be seeing this baby again.

Tags | Closet Confidential

Happy Friday, a while back I'd been tagged by the lovely Tasha of TashPantz to do the Closet Confidential tag, make sure to check out her blog. Finally I had time to sit down, go through the questions and take a few pictures. Here are my answers and I hope you enjoy. xo

1. What is the oldest item in your closet/wardrobe?

I count this to be my oldest item I own because I've obviously stopped using all the other older stuff and it's one of the first items that got me into fashion/blogging. I still use it till this day; although not as often as I would want. It's from Dorothy Perkins.

New In | "KENZO"

All I have to say is that it is made in China (let me know below if you get what I'm saying, and I mean no harm). One of my friends' mum was visiting China so when he told me that she could buy me a knockoff for obviously waaay cheaper than the original, I had to say YES! I was lucky because at that time I'd been searching for one on Ebay, at first I wanted a grey one but seeing as it was out of stock, the green seemed appealing as well so I just went with that and I don't regret it. The only annoying thing is that it sheds A LOT from the inside, just make sure to wear a tank top inside to avoid turning into the Grinch (that's cool if you're into stuff like that).
There's an outfit already in the works coming up where I'm wearing this baby so stay tuned.

Almost there... 1/2

Good morning, hope you're are all swell. I just walked out of my first exam of  the year and it was Commercial/Business Law. There was a lot of information to go through but I somehow managed, slept for 5 hours and I'm currently feeling sleepy but I should be able to survive my day ahead. This picture was taken a while ago after I had taken out my braids and almost got done detaingling it, it's a braid out that didn't turn out as planned but I was somewhat content with the results.

The winner is...

Akila of Onacruz blog. Make sure you check her out.
Thanks to everyone that took part in this giveaway, there should be more to come in the not too distant future.

Outfit | Love This Life

Scarf - Outlet (Zara) | Peplum top - Primark | Bottoms - Gallerí | Casio watch | Shoes - Charity Shop | Rings - Lindex x Markets

Hope everyone's had a great start to the weekend so far, oh and if you're wondering why this title, it's because I'm currently listening to a song of the same name from T.I.'s album titled 'Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head'. The song is somewhat similar to his other song 'Whatever you like', and it sends a very great message of what's important and what's not and how we should just love this life we have instead of chasing around money, cars, shoes and jewelry.
I decided to add a statement necklace to spice up the outfit a little and that scarf. It was very comfortable throughout the day and I didn't feel too 'dressed up' either. This blazer is back again and this is sure not the last time you'll be seeing it.

And don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY if you haven't yet done so!

Outfit | Oversized Shirt & High Waisted Shorts

Doing the songster signature pose.
Jacket - Vero Moda | Plaid shirt - Spúútník | 30STM tee - Merch store | Shorts - Nostalgía
 Beanie - Gyllti Kötturinn | Bag - Zara | Shoes - Ebay

Another outfit featuring my favourite and probably the most expensive piece as well, this leather jacket is making yet one more appearance on the blog. I'm unlike many bloggers that only wear many of their clothes only once, well I'm not so rich to be able to do that so being repetitive is the only way to go :). So when I find something I love I will wear it as much as possible although I also will be careful so it doesn't get spoiled or something. This jacket's been my favourite for very long now and I don't regret buying at all. It's a great staple and it's different from the usual black leather jackets. I loved wearing this outfit and it felt very 'me' like and on top of that it was very comfortable for a day out with friends.
I wish you all a great rest of the week and to those that have exams coming up like myself, good luck and stay hydrated!

Inspiration | May

Good morning loves, happy first day of May! Man does time fly, I remember like it was yesterday when it was January and I was talking about going back to school and dreading the oncoming semester but here I am already ending it and around Christmas this year I should be receiving my certificate. This is my birthday month and I'm so excited yet scared at the same time.

This is when my teenage years end and I'm quite sure if there is anything that I regret. I'm afraid of growing up and the responsibilities that follow reaching a certain age/stage is my life and being disorganised about the future is quite frightening. Not knowing what I will be doing i.e. in 5 years is tormenting. Oh and as for school I've passed 5/8 of my classes, this year I was only supposed to take 3 final exams but yesterday I found out that I passed my science class (I failed last year) and didn't need to take the final so that was HUGE news. It gives me more time to focus on the other 2 courses, and I must say they are quite difficult.

Now back to the main point of today's post, so I wanted to make a mood board for some pieces I'd like to add to my wardrobe and also these items depict the way I wish to dress this month. I will try and put more effort in my outfits so at least a larger amount of my clothes gets used and not just thrown behind the stash.
Today's Labour Day and I'm at home refueling after pulling all -nighters 2 nights in a row. Also I've got some exciting stuff coming up on the blog and I ordered a few things that I'll show when they arrive so stay tuned!
