Nails | Deutsch You Want Me Baby?

O.P.I - Deutsch You Want Me Baby?

My nail polish collection consists of either very dark or bright tones, and I try to wear them equally as much each year. I had such a large collection but recently I threw out some old ones from like 5 years ago just to make space and as well as so I get the chance to use everything I own.
This week's manicure is this rich orange from O.P.I - I recently started using it and I've worn it maybe 2 or 3x already and I love it. The colour's just beautiful and compliments my skin tone so well. It wears very well too so that's a plus because there's nothing I dislike more than having to re-do my nails during the week. I usually keep Sundays for all the pampering and then I like to go about my week without worries.

Have you tried this colour before or something similar?

Top 5 Winter Nail Polishes

From L-R: O.P.I - Unfor-greta-bly-blue & Lost My Bikini in Molokini // Barry M - Racing Green // Essie - Chinchilly & Bordeux

Today I'm sharing my top 5 nail polishes for winter. These are the shades I find myself gravitating towards a lot this time of the year, I've mentioned many times on the blog how much I love the O.P.I Lincoln park after dark shade - it's the most gorgeous deep burgundy shade I've ever come across and it'll remain one of my all time favourites for years to come! As you can see the shades above are quite different from one another, reason being that I want everyone to find a shade they like, not everyone digs dark vampy or forest green colours like I do so maybe the lighter shades can be of help if you're looking into trying any.

Let me know in the comments below if you've tried any of these nail polishes.

Nails | CHANEL 579 Paparazzi

This week's manicure is this gorgeous copper colour with a bit of shimmer from Chanel. It's perfect for winter and summer, although I feel it's more suitable for the winter season. The application is very opaque and 1-2 coats is enough. I added a third coat to my liking and you can do the same, nonetheless it's a very pretty colour that would suit every skin tone. You'll definitely be seeing more of this on the blog in the months to come.

What are your thoughts? Would you rather wear it in autumn or summer?

Nails | Essie's "Chinchilly"

This is the colour that I've been rocking for about a week now. It's very long lasting, easy and creamy application as well as being opaque so you don't need many coats to get the true colour. I'm used to doing two or three coats but for this one, two was enough to give me that full coverage and opaque grey colour. My nails are behaving quite well right now so I'm going to use the chance and try on a lot more colours just because I think the longer and well filed the nails are, the better everything else looks.

Nails | 5 Nail Polishes for Summer

O.P.I - Plants A Lot // Sinful Colors - Savage 958 // Aisha - Mint Green // Sally Hansen - Radiant Rose 29 // Revlon - Plum Seduction 917

Happy Mother's Day to all the hardworking mothers out there. The first full week of May is already over, my birthday's coming up and I have no clue as to how to celebrate because it's not yet clear whether I'll be working or not. I'm thinking to just have the girls over at my place and hit town later, we'll see what happens. Anyway today's post is a quick one to show you my 5 colour choices for the summer, although this morning it didn't look at all like summer outside because it was literally snowing on my way to work. Later during the day the sun decided to come out and it stayed. I highly recommend the nail polishes above, especially the O.P.I one, it's creamy and is long lasting as long as you prepare your nails well beforehand.
Which are you favourite colours for summer?

BABY PINK

Sparrow Me The Drama - O.P.I

I am so glad that the weekend has arrived although for me it feels just like any other day except for the occasional night outs. Recently my days are spent reading and going through work and Uni applications plus drinking excessive amounts of black coffee and tea. Someone come and save me...
Today's post is about nails and it feels like such a long time ago since I last had one up, I love painting my nails and it is very rare that you would find me with unpainted nails, only maybe a few days of the week. My choice this time around was this gorgeous light pink colour from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection by O.P.I that was released a few years ago. It's the perfect colour for spring/summer. Also excuse the thumb nail, it has been very brittle as of late :(

Stripy French Tips Nail Art

Gosh base/top coat // O.P.I Planks A Lot // Kiss nail-art pens

I wanted to share with you guys my current manicure, it's a different spin on the french manicure instead of using a solid colour I opted on trying out stripes in different shades and I'm in love with the outcome. You can use any colours you want and it'd look good on short nails as well, just make sure to use shorter strokes. Let me know if you try this nail art design below or tweet me @estherni1.

Nails | Top 5 Colours

Although the summer season's almost over I thought why not post my Top Five nail varnishes that I've found myself gravitating towards more than once and talk a little more about them. I'm a sucker for both bright and dark varnishes plus it's always good to have a new colour that I've not yet used in my collection just so I can have something to look forward to. Today I'll be talking about these favourites of mine, if you're interested then keep on reading.

Nails | Electric Blue

"Electric Blue" - Yamamay Beauty

Happy Wednesday. Hope you're all having a fantastic week so far. Monday and yesterday I was free from work and the sun was shining, although it was still quite chilly. Nonetheless I made sure to make the best of the day and went for a stroll down town with one of my friends. We had some macaroons and it was overall just a very chilled day because starting today I'll be working six days straight!

I'll be showing you an outfit from yesterday later but first this nail polish I have on, I bought in in Milan last year along with two others (that I'll eventually show on here as well). It's by a brand called Yamamay, apparently it's very famous out there and I recall seeing Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad shoot a campaign with them about a year ago. This colour's very opaque and only requires one coat but I'm so used to always adding a second coat. It has a small brush so it's perfect if you have really short nails and I highly recommend it.

Nails | Sparrow Me The Drama

Nail polishes used:
Maybelline Color Show - 197 Chalk Dust
GOSH - 569 Flamingo
O.P.I - Sparrow me the drama

I haven't posted anything nail related on here for quite a while so I decided to show you guys these three polishes that are currently my favvourites and also the way I like combining them for a cute and quirky look. If you have been following my blog long enough then you know that one of my favourite ways of painting my nails is have solid colours on all my nails apart from the ring finger; otherwise know as the 'accent nail' where I usually paint a totally different color and will probably add some glitter as well, but in this case I added the Maybelline black and white polish.
What is your favourite way of painting your finger nails? Let me know below.xo

Nails | Colourful Flowers

Polishes : O.P.I - Planks Alot, Fly & Lincoln Park After Dark (not pictured) | Revlon - Craving Coral (902) | Dotting tool - Bourjois

Happy Friday guys. I've been at home all day lazying around and I'm now just getting around to studying a little bit because the news about the strike is that school will most likely resume next Monday, to be honest I am quite excited to have something to wake up to every morning because being alone at home and just sleeping is becoming a little bit boring. Hopefully we'll go back to school on Monday so I can get my routine back on track.

After showing you guys my nail art book I decided to create a look from the book and this is the outcome. I love the flowers although they could have been a bit more neat. Nonetheless I love the look. Anyway the books are calling so I'll talk to you guys in my next post.

Off The Shoulder

'Off the shoulder' - Essie

Haven't done a nail polish in a while and seeing as I'd recently tried this new polish from Essie that I'd bought last summer but didn't get to use it until now. I love the colour and it contrasts very well against my skin tone. It's a polish I can wear any season really but I'm guessing by the tone and colour of it, it's more spring and summer appropriate. This sure isn't the last time you'll be seeing this nail polish on here so brace yourselves.

Nails | Call me Gwen-ever

Call me Gwen-ever - O.P.I

Happy Sunday everyone and I hope your weekend was good. I was just at home studying, didn't party or anything as I happen to be taking a break and concentrating more on my studies. Otherwise it was a pretty good one. I wanted to show you this polish seen in my last outfit post called 'Call me Gwen-ever' from the Spiderman collection by O.P.I that came out sometime last year. It's somewhat of a dusty orange almost coral polish depending on what kind of lighting you're in. It's perfect for the summer and spring time and suits any skin tone. Wishing you all an amazing week ahead.xx

Beauty | NYE Sparkles

Hello hello, it's finally New Years Eve and after posting about some possible NYE outfits the last time, I decided to go ahead and write another post with even more sparkles but this time around it's all about the nails. Below I've chosen five polishes that I consider appropriate for the occasion although not all of them are sparkly. My fave of all of them is probably 'polka.com', it's just so pretty over pretty much any colour polish you can think of and works well on the accent finger too.

Instagram | Tumblr | Pinterest Lookbook | Twitter | Bloglovin
Maybelline Color Show | 197 Chalk Dust: this polish isn't necessarily a glitter polish but the flakes of it topped onto another contrasting colour will definitely make your nails stand out, it's a polish on it's own but I think it's better off added to another.

China Glaze | 1061 Mistletoe Me: another not-so-sparkly nail polish that is a gorgeous pink with a slight hint of sparkle in there. The application's very think and you can go on 'bout your day with just 1 coat but for me 2 coats is the way to go. This colour isn't too 'out there' so it's perfect for those who want a bit of colour but not over the top.
O.P.I | Sparkle-icious: my first ever O.P.I polish, after purchasing this very particular polish is when the nail polish addiction begun, today I own a little over 60 polishes which is insane and I'm sort of ashamed to even write that on here, of course it's nowhere compared to some nail polish collections I've seen on YouTube!
This polish's really pretty although it needs about 3 coats to cover the whole nail if applied single, the not so fun part is when it's time to remove it.
Sally Hansen | 450 Wedding Crasher: a very sparkly pink that applies well and needs only about 2 coats. Easy removal and not too expensive. The Sally Hansen nail brushes are amazing too, one of the best!
O.P.I | Polka.com: when the Euro Centrale collection by O.P.I came out this is the very first polish from the whole collection that really caught my eye and I bought it straight away, I've worn it a couple of times and it's just so pretty. I love all the different coloured flakes it contains and it looks really pretty topped onto another polish; especially a yellow one. I wore this on  O.P.I's 'Need Sunglasses' and got so many compliments.

That's it for today and hopefully this post can help some of you out there in search for the perfect glitter polish and I hope I'm not too late with it. Today's I'll just be relaxing at home, have dinner with the fam then meet up with the girls for our NYE shenanigans.
See you all in the new year and stay safe!

Nails | Bubblicious by Maybelline

 Bubblicious - Maybelline Color Show

Won a giveaway I think last month that was held by Trendnet.is and the price were two nail polishes from the Maybelline color show line and a dip-in nail polish remover. Since then I've already used this nail polish a few times and it last a long time, once I had it on for almost 2 weeks. The application is quite thick some maybe need to only use 1 coat but for me I always use 2 or more just to get a more in depth colour.
In these pictures I have about 2-3 on.
This is the first time ever that I'm trying out the color show nail polishes and so far so good.

New In | Trendnet & Maybelline Reykjavík Goodies

The Rocket Volum Express mascara - Maybelline
Express remover - Maybelline
Color show 'polka dots' - Maybelline
Color show 'bubblicious' - Maybelline

Seems all I do these days is win giveaways haha, anyway a week ago Trendnet.is (a platform for Icelandic bloggers) and Maybelline Reykjavík teamed up to host a giveaway on Instagram whereby those who participated had to hashtag #trendneglur (#trendnails) on their nail photos and everyday for five days they chose 5 winners who won a nail polish remover, 2 nail polishes and a mascara. The grand prize was 50.000kr which is equivalent to $412 which the winner got to spend on Maybelline goodies. I was part of the 5 day winners which I was very happy with because it was unexpected since there were about 800 photos taking part in this giveaway. I was ecstatic when I received the news on a Friday morning and my day went by pretty nicely that day.

These are my first ever nail polishes from the 'Color show' line so I'm excited to try them out and see how they wear, I will most definitely blog about them soon and show you guys some swatches as well. Also I've very excited to try the remover, heard about it before but never thought of trying it and since I've now got it FOR FREE I'm really excited to see all the hype about it and will of course let you know especially if anyone out there is interested in buying it.

Have a fabulous week lovelies.

Nails | Unfor-greta-bly blue

Where has February gone? It passed by so faaaast..
This is a manicure that I wore the whole of last week, for the base I used Sally Hansen's strengthening polish and then main polish is called unfor-greta-bly blue by O.P.I. It's from the Germany Collection that came out I think at the very beginning of this year. Once again this weekend as I was working I ended up buying another nail polish; but this one is from the Euro Centrale Collection that came out at the beginning of January (at my workplace). It's a very glittery polish one and really gorge! Can't wait to show you guys.
My love for nail polish might be getting a bit out of control and adding to that, it's all mostly O.P.I polishes.. and boy they do not come cheap!
I have to slow down on this madness...

Nails | Purple Cheetah Print

Note: *I took the pictures about 2 weeks after I had done the nail art, I removed it right after the photo taking*
From left: O.P.I's Planks A Lot, Sally Hansen's Night Flight, O.P.I's No Room For The Blues and Kiss's Pearl Black

About two weeks ago I had some free time on my hands and I used it to paint my nails some funky nail art which turned out okay, maybe not great but afar, it looked bomb!
I got a lot of compliments and a few ' how do you do it' and 'how long does it take' kind of questions.
I saw this design on Pinterest and decided to go for it, the outcome was much prettier than I expected it to be since I haven't been doing anything special to my nails recently.
Hope you liked this quick post.

1. step - grab the colours of your choice and paint your nails like I did in the picture below. To make this print even more fun you could add a third colour to each of your nails instead of two.
2. step - after your nails have dried you can now go ahead and use your nail art pen or polish to make zebra strips over them. Let it completely dry before applying a top coat to avoid smudging the lines like I did with some of the nails, and you're all done! Also for some added funk you could add a little bit of glitter before the  top coat.
