I recently drained my M.A.C studio fix fluid foundation which I've been using for quite some time now alongside the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick. This means going on another hunt for the perfect foundation. As everyone already knows, M.A.C. cosmetics isn't the cheapest of brands so right now my aim is to find a few  good brands that are on the more affordable side. I've tried a couple of drugstore brands but they never seem to be dark enough for my skin tone and always leave me looking ashy. I'm starting to think that I might need to actually purchase two separate shades and mix them to get the desired shade or go back to splurging on the studio fix fluid.

I'm interested in trying the NARS and Bobbi Brown compact foundation although I'm quite certain that my shade of the BB one isn't in stock. Also no place here carries NARS which means I'd need to get mine online, that can be a hassle to find a site that ships to Iceland. Have you guys tried any of the above foundations and if so which top 3 would you recommend me to try out?

How Would You Wear | All White

 Scarf - Outlet | Necklace - Velvet.is | T-shirt - Zara | Pants - Zara | Heels - Deichmann
 Lipstick - Smashbox: Infrared (matte)

Happy new week my loves! I'm all about good and positive vibes and there's nothing anyone can tell me that's going to bring me down. Today I'm coming to you with an outfit in collaboration with a fellow fashion blogger friend of mine Diane, our theme this time around was to create an All-White outfit and this is what I came up with. I love these high rise jeans that I recently purchased from Zara, they fit and hug me so well! I decided to use my heels from way back because of the pretty flowery design at the front and also the gold detailing to bring out the gold in the necklace. I topped it off with a colourful scarf wrapped as a turban for colour.

I'm so happy to have been part of this and it was very fun to see the different ways the ladies have styled their looks, so inspirational. Make sure you check out how they styled the White on White look below:

1. Brenda - Skinny Bish
2. Marie-Line - Le Monde de Princie
3. Yen - Diva in me
4. Sarah - Princess Audu
5. Stephanie - Chocolate Laced
6. Diane - DeeVine Anonyme
7. Amanda - Done n Done
8. Esther - Style Krush
9. Janet - Posh n' Petite
10. Prisca - Mochaccino Land
11. Chenai - Fabulously Pink
12. Fei - Unspoken Language
13. Virgit - Preppy Fashionist

Will update the rest later on when the rest of the gang has posted their looks.xo

Inspiration | May

Good morning loves, happy first day of May! Man does time fly, I remember like it was yesterday when it was January and I was talking about going back to school and dreading the oncoming semester but here I am already ending it and around Christmas this year I should be receiving my certificate. This is my birthday month and I'm so excited yet scared at the same time.

This is when my teenage years end and I'm quite sure if there is anything that I regret. I'm afraid of growing up and the responsibilities that follow reaching a certain age/stage is my life and being disorganised about the future is quite frightening. Not knowing what I will be doing i.e. in 5 years is tormenting. Oh and as for school I've passed 5/8 of my classes, this year I was only supposed to take 3 final exams but yesterday I found out that I passed my science class (I failed last year) and didn't need to take the final so that was HUGE news. It gives me more time to focus on the other 2 courses, and I must say they are quite difficult.

Now back to the main point of today's post, so I wanted to make a mood board for some pieces I'd like to add to my wardrobe and also these items depict the way I wish to dress this month. I will try and put more effort in my outfits so at least a larger amount of my clothes gets used and not just thrown behind the stash.
Today's Labour Day and I'm at home refueling after pulling all -nighters 2 nights in a row. Also I've got some exciting stuff coming up on the blog and I ordered a few things that I'll show when they arrive so stay tuned!

Outfit | New Years Eve

Fur vest - Pull & Bear *friends' | Dress - Topshop | Lipstick - Smashbox | Earrings - Kiss

It's already the 2 day of the new year! Hope you all had a blast this New Years Eve with your families and friends. This is actually the very first time that I'm doing something for New Years as I've always been one to stay at home drinking lots of tea and eating chocolate whilst watching the Home Alone movies or having a marathon of The Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter series. I'm that kind of girl, but this time around I decided to switch things up a little and my girls and I headed out. We didn't come home until 7 am! It was fun and all that but I think next year I'd rather just stay in or host a party here home instead of being outside in the cold walking between clubs.

Anyway on to the outfit, I wanted to go a little overboard and wear something very sparkly but had no time to go shopping plus I'm trying to save money and not spend on things I don't need so I just went with this gorgeous sequined dress from Topshop that had been lying around in my wardrobe as I've only used it twice. At first I wore some snake print pumps but felt they weren't tall enough so I switched once again to my favourite shoes ever, these wedges that I'd bought back when I visited Amsterdam summer of '12.

You might have noticed that my layout has completely changed and that is because I wanted a fresh new look to start the year with. I have big plans for the blog and hopefully I'll succeed. I'm really liking this new look but me being who I am; I'm most certain that in a couple of months I'll already bored of it and change it again... the struggle.
Let me know below, do you like the new look?

Change is a good thing

H/M
Hey guys, hope you all had a good weekend because I did. Attended one of my friends's birthday and went out Saturday night. Look out for an outfit post in the next couple of days.
So there's something that I've been thinking of doing for a very long time now and that is getting my septum pierced. I've been wanting to do it for the longest time but never had the courage and thought to wait things out because maybe I was going through a phase that would eventually pass as time went by, boy was I wrong because about 2-3 years later I was still in love with septum piercings and still eager to get one myself so two weeks ago after school I took one of my good friends with me for support and just so I had someone to remember this moment with me. I got it pierced and it didn't hurt at all except for when like the little thing she put to prepare the hole wasn't really going through and she had to push it a little with her hands that was the part that hurt a  little. I shed a tear but it wasn't due to the pain but instead the excitement.
I had to wait a week before getting the ring itself and so I went in last Friday.
Top - H&M | Necklace - Claire's | Lipstick's by Smashbox

The moment I looked in the mirror I fell in love. Since then I've spent quite a lot of time just admiring my new accessory. Some people think it's a turn off or that I look like a cow or whatever but I could really care less about their opinion (hopefully I don't sound too conceited here but I try to brush off negativity from my life). It's understandable though that it might require a little more time to get used to it.
Anyway what do you guys think of it, cause I absolutely love it.

Hola chicas!
So the weekend went by rather quickly this time around. My girls and I went out Saturday night and we had a blast. It's been long (2 weeks) since I last went out so it felt so good dressing up and putting on as much make up as I want and no one ever gave me the weird eye unlike if I had worn a red lip to school. Sunday was the usual hangover day and face pampering day. On the other hand when I woke up on Sunday I was in so much pain, my thighs were killing me (from the gym) and also I was wearing these heels for the first time after keeping them in my room for nearly 2 years. They weren't too comfortable and since I had worn them for a long period of time I somehow ended up twisting one of my toes and I feel it's paralyzed or something. I have this strange feeling when my feet touch the ground and it's been like this since Sunday, if someone knows what it could be then please let me know because it's driving me mad.

Outfit | Ljósanótt 2013

H/M
Leather jacket - Outfitter's Nation | Top, Bottoms -  Stradivarius | Lipstick - Kiko | Gold chain - H&M
Earrings - Manía | Gold chain - Claire's | Peplum top - Primark | Bottoms - Outlet | Booties - Hagkaup | Lipstick - Smashbox | Bag - H&M | Blazer - Kolrassa

Hola!
Hope everyone's had a good weekend. My weekend was okay nothing fancy happened; was just working and doing school work as per usual. This morning I woke up really early so I wouldn't be late for class because last week I showed up late to almost 90% of all my classes so this week I'm definitely going to change that. Because of that early rise this morning I somehow became extremely hyper all day long and was feeling myself and my outfit and just everything around me made me happy. I don't know what the heck is going on here but it felt good, now I'm back to the ol' grumpy only want to be alone in my room watching Two and a Half Men self. In just a couple of days I've managed to finish series 6 & 7 of Two and a Half Men which is really bad considering all the amount of school work needed to be done.

On to the outfit; two weeks ago there was a festival called Ljósanótt (Night of Lights) in a town called Keflavík. It was my first time attending and on Saturday the girls and I went to a Paul Oscar (Páll Óskar) ball which was loads of fun, he's just such an amazing and fun person with a lot of energy. He entertained us from 12:00 AM until somewhere around 05:00 AM. I reunited with quite a lot of my friends since I used to live in Keflavík before moving back to Reykjavík. But now I'm back again living in Keflavík. It's complicated. I hope you liked my outfit, as you've maybe noticed there hasn't been much about #ootd posting on here since the weather just isn't allowing me to at this very moment. The wind  we're experiencing right now can definitely take one's life, in the North and East it has already started to snow so you can only imagine what it's like trying to make your tripod stand still in 20m/s kind of wind... that for sure isn't going to end well.

See you in my next post and who's been keeping up with London Fashion Week?

Beauty | January Faves

Just wanted to show you guys my January favourites. They are mostly beauty items as you might have noticed.
From left:  Clean&Clear blackhead cleansing daily scrub | Atrix hand cream | L'oreal triple active daily moisturizer | Bobbi Brown foundation stick in #8 - Walnut | Rimmel's Scandal eyes mascara | Smashbox's Infrared matte lipstick | Kylie Minogue fragrance - Showtime | Elf eyeshadow kit | Mac studio finish concealer in NW50 | Maybelline liquid eyeliner | Artdeco brow pencil #2 | Lindex hoop earrings | Casio watch
You can't possibly understand how much I love this lip stick, it gives me such a classic look and really boosts my confidence. I always end up feeling like a million bucks when I have this baby on.

This morning I woke up feeling sick, but still I got myself to school, though during the first period I just wasn't feeling myself. I felt sicker than earlier and so I was debating whether or not to go home (which would make me miss math revision before the test tomorrow). In the end going home was the best option for me and so I went ahead and headed for home. Once I got home I hit the sack and woke up 2 hours later feeling a little better than before and to my luck I happened to receive a text from one of my class mates letting me know that the test has been postponed till Monday which made me happier, more sleep for me tonight instead of studying!

Now I'll go ahead and work on some of my never-ending school work while it's still sunny outside (hope I don't fall asleep!)

xoxo
