January Favourites

It's hard to even think and reflect on the fact that we're onto the 2nd month in such a short period of time. I literally have no clue where January went, I feel as if I didn't do much last month aside from stressing about what's to come...
On a more positive note, today I'm sharing with you a few beauty related items that I've been absolutely loving this past month. Most of these products have already made their debut on the blog - except for my relatively new foundation, which is from MAC and I've been using it for a little over a month. Plus I'm going to share with you another product that I'm certain will stay a favourite of mine for quite some time.
Firstly I'd like to discuss my all-time favourite thing right now and that is highlighting; I've been using the GOSH giant sun powder - which I talked about in this post. It's actually a bronzing powder but I use it to give my already oily face a bit more reflection. It's perfect to highlight eyebrows, cheekbone as well as nose.
I mentioned above that there's one particular product that's at the very top of my list right now, it's the Clinique high impact extreme colume mascara [extreme black 01]. It comes in a pretty silver compact and being a fan of think mascara brushes I knew it would make my list of favoured mascaras. It has a thick brush with tiny bristles which makes it perfect for applying mascara to bottom lashes. It gets each strand of hair without leaving those unwanted clumps.
Too Face Chocolate Soleil matte bronzer. If you've tried any of the Too Faced products from the Chocolate line then you'll know what I'm talking about when I say that they smell divine! Seriously, I already told you my story regarding the bronzer above - in-depth post on the bronzer.
Winter is the time to moisturize, no one wants to walk around with ashy ankles. Lately I've been loving the Coconut Body Milk by The Body Shop. I got it as a Christmas present and it's been in use pretty much since I received it. Coconut is way up my alley, I own it in so many formulas - anything from body lotions & body butters, hair oils and even hand creams. That's how much I love anything with coconut in it.
M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid. My YSL Encre De Peau foundation is coming to the end of it's life and I decided to go back to the only brand that carries foundations that are not too ashy for my skin colour. In the past I've always used M.A.C foundations and I once tried out the Bobbi Brown foundation stick, it was great and I could think of going back to it but for now I want to use a liquid foundation. The shade I'm currently using is NW46 and so far, so good, I have no complaints at all and I think it's suits my skin tone quite nicely.
Make Up For Ever waterproof cream eye shadow in Aqua Black - I love this eye shadow and I've talked about it a lot already but whenever I want a smooth wing liner; this product here always does the trick for me, it's soft and easy to use resulting in a perfectly wing. Also the M.A.C Taupe lipstick is the one I used a lot the past month. It's a deep mauve colour with a matte finish and lasts a long time. I hate applying and adding more product to my face.
To keep my lips chap-free in this -10°C weather I use a balm made of natural Icelandic herbs and it's simply called Varasmyrsl - lipbalm. It's very moisturising and my only concern regarding this scent free product that's supposed to protect your lips in cold weather, strong sun rays and salt water, is the fact that the need to frequently reapply more. That's the main reason why I'm a strong believer in carrying hand sanitisers with you at all times.
I've had in my make-up collection for months, if I'm correct I think I actually got this product last summer, it's the L.A. Girl Pro prep HD high-definition smoothing face primer - that's a heck of a long name! Anyway this primer is obviously for prepping your face to prevent clogging your pores with foundation and all the other products you might add, it also helps with smooth make-up application.
Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette. This beautiful palette has been featured here - It's no surprise that this palette has made my favourites list, it's been on the list pretty much ever since I got it, I'm just now talking about it. The colours I've been reaching for a lot are 'Whisky' - a deep brown matte shadow, and I really like 'Radar' and 'Armor'; these two eye shadows are gorgeous and go well together or individually. They have a shimmer finish to them and are really pretty. I see myself hitting pan on these two very soon.
