Cold Weather Enjoyments

Image via Google

- sleeping in
- reading a good book
- snugging up in cozy sweaters
- warm drinks (my fave. Swiss Mocca)
- movie nights
- cuddling
- burning candles
- making our surrounding cozy (dec. for Christmas)
- spending time with my family
- walking down the decorated shopping street
- eating good food
- christmas sales shopping

Just wanted to share with you guys a few of my favourite things to do around this time of the year, to be honest though, I'm not really much of a Christmas child. Growing up in Zambia with my grandparents some parts of my childhood we rarely celebrated Christmas the way some people do. We never went overboard, ours was celebrated with food and spending time with each other. I feel like here all people care about is receiving presents. One thing that bugs me too is that a person works his/her ass off and instead of enjoying that money or saving it for something like a house in the future, the money's spent on presents for others. Ia find that concept to be kind of unfair. That isn't the only way we can show our love. You could simply show it by your actions and not only some shallow present giving!
That's just my opinion, let me know below if you agree or disagree.

Have a great day loves!
xoxo

  1. I also like Christmas in Nigeria. It wasn't really about getting everyone gifts, but more of spending time with family. Good food and laughter!

    That picture is so beautiful!!

I like your new look and blog name! :)

  2. Christmas means celebration and gifts for kids in Africa. If I had to pay gifts for all the people I love I would have not been able to buy something for myself. I'm glad it does not exist here lol and totally agree with you.

  4. I think now people are just obsessed with material stuff and they simply forget how the little stuff have more impact than buying crazy stuff. Living in the world where the media commercialize these holidays doesn't help either haha
I agree with what you wrote and thumbs up for that checklist! :)

    1. Thank you and you're so right about the commercialization as well having an impact on how people see Christmas or the holidays.
      I'm glad you liked it!:D

  6. I love Christmas for the ability to spend it with family over great meals and conversations not necessary for the gift.
